Carro

Description This spot is located 35 kilometers west of Marseille and is known as one of the best wavespots at the Mediteranean. A reef turns the swell into giant waves up to 5 meters high. This makes Carro a real crack-spot and turns it into Europe's own Hookipa. The good thing about Carro is that the waveconditions are excellent with almost every winddirection. The best winddirections are southeast and west, but even with offshore winds the windsurfconditions at Carro are good. The seasons with the best wind are spring and fall (march-mai and september-november). Watch out for the rocks in the water. On two places you can bump into them.

Wind & weather

Living There are not many places to be found in Carro to spend the night. There's only one camping site: Camping Municipal L'Hippocampe. In La Couronne there are cheap appartments for rent at De Vacances Le Pescadou (70 guilders/day), hotels (Le Littoral, L'Hotel des Pins) and two more camping sites (Le Cap, Municipal de l'Arquet).

Shops There's only one surfshop in La Couronne: Sun7 (Sunset), Avenue des Vauclusiens.
