Brittany is one of the windiest regions in Europe. In spring and fall this region is visited by many storms, but in summer the winds are not so good. The air- and watertemperature are even in winter never below 10 degrees Celcius. The entire coastline has sand-beaches, but on the water you should be aware of rocks. Wind & weather 
At Plage de l'Aber windsurfing has a high funfactor. Moderate waves without dangerous currents or rocks. The westwind blows sideshore from the right. At plage de la Palud (soutwest of Morgat) the surfconditions are a lot more demanding. Even with 'normal' waves this spot is for cracks only. When the conditions get harder this spot gets impossible to sail. Then the highest waves of France appear. About five kilometers to the west lies Morgat, a slalomspot that can also be sailed by beginners. A bit further to the west (on the other side of the peninsula) lies Gouilen. The best winddirection are here southwest and northeast. Good waves. Pointe de la Torche is known as one of the most radical wavespots in the world. La Torche deserves the title 'for cracks only'. The famous windsurfer Robby Naish described this spot once as 'really difficult'. The waves can get twice mast-high and the currents can be very strong. Surfers who feel no fear while reading this should surely visit this spot. When the wind blows from the north it has perfect sideshore conditions with excellent waves. Starting point on the right side of the bay. People who prefer more moderate conditions should drive about ten kilometers south. Here in Guilvinec you can fly over flatwater, while the cracks in La Torche fight the killer waves. When the wind is southwest waves run over a harmless reef 200 meters out of the coast.  Quiberon is a peninsula that offers both slalomconditions and waveconditions. With westwind the spots in the eastern part (Kerhostin, Sables Blanc) have offshore winds and flatwater. On the west-side powerful waves hammer on the shore. With wind from north or south perfect waves run on a sandbeach at La Grand Plage in the northwest, at the base of the peninsula. When the wind blows from the northeast or southwest the best wavespot is Kerhilio, ten kilometers north of Grand Plage. Sleeping Near most spots you'll find camping sites.
